Business Planning: A Key Factor in the Success of Your Grant or Contract
It is not enough to have a great idea or technology, you must be able to establish and run a successful business and that takes a plan. Structure, people, guidelines, funding are all parts of the puzzle. The objective of this session is to introduce you to the basics of setting up a business and working with the government.

SPECIAL SESSION: Accessing Technology Forum
Kent State University and ASME International will present a special forum for attendees living and doing business in Ohio and the surrounding states. This session will include information on the basics of how to connect with technology expertise, potential providers, and strategic partners to provide a stronger technical team for your SBIR/STTR work.
Partnerships with STTR/SBIR
This session will focus on available partnering opportunities for small business and the university community. All the key players don't always have the same "take" on what is needed. A panel comprised of a successful small business (STTR), a university researcher, and university administrator will present their perspectives on how best to take advantage of the program and stay within the guidelines of the university system. |

Do you know what they are? Are you in compliance? When you sign that paperwork, you guarantee you will be in compliance with a long list of items. Workshop C: Basic Accounting for Government Contracts/Grants
Working with the government is different. To avoid time consuming and costly mistakes, learn what you need to know and how to set up your business before you have to provide those reports! This workshop will address basic accounting practices to follow when working with governmental entities as well as establishing indirect rates, job costing, and accounting differences among the Agencies.
