The SBIR program is a $1.2 Billion a year federal program exclusively for small businesses with new and innovative technologies that meet agency needs and have commercial applications. It is a 3- phase program with grants ranging up to$850,000 for feasibility studies and prototype development. Last year, through this program, innovative Maine small businesses were awarded over $3 million in project research funding.
