Description:

AUTOe is a 1 1/2-day conference focused on the future and exponential change of the automotive industry and the information technologies that will enable and accelerate this future. Build-to-order, modularity, open architectures, the 72-hour car, and the 1-month global car design are all on the horizon. What are the information technologies that will enable these concepts? How will legacy systems be incorporated? What will be the evolving issues surrounding security? How will the Internet and wireless communication technologies be used to insure adequate data mobility? What will be the impact of information systems on supply chain management? How will collaborative work systems for the professional evolve as new information technologies and new automotive concepts emerge? The University of Michigan College of Engineering, a world leader in both automotive and Internet technology research, is sponsoring AUTOe to assist participants to better understand the current state of the information technologies and their application to the auto industry. Presentations by experts at AUTOe will explore the potential impact and application of these information technologies on the future of the global automotive industry.
