Monday, October 28th is set aside for a special, optional Pre-Conference Workshop that will help you understand the basics of Proposal Preparation. This workshop is valuable for anyone working with government proposal writing and especially targeted at those interested in the SBIR/STTR Program. The day wraps up, and the Conference starts, with a Welcome Reception Monday night. Tuesday, October 29th begins the formal conference program with the "SBIR/STTR Basics". One general overview of the program will be given, followed by a Program Update - what's new, what to look for, what options are available. All participating Federal Agencies will be provided significant time slots to allow them to focus on commercialization and their unique agency aspects. They will address some of the key factors you need to know to get products/services to market. The Networking Areas will open on this day, allowing you to visit with agency, organization and corporate representatives. After the formal sessions, a Networking Reception is planned along with some special Awards for outstanding, innovative Small Businesses. Wednesday, October 30th programming is focused around "National Issues and Partnerships". What are agencies looking for? Concurrent Sessions will be offered on Homeland Security/Bio-Defense, Information Technology, Agriculture/Aquaculture/Forestry, Environmental, Biotech/Bioengineering and Photonics. General Sessions on Working with Academia and Working with Big Business round out the day. Thursday, October 31st is all about how "Support Leads to Success: Don't Go It Alone!" Key sessions on Business Plan Development and Commercialization Strategies will be offered in addition to Financing Opportunities, Commercialization in Rural Areas, Intellectual Properties and Leveraging Your Customer Base. The Networking Areas will be open during conference hours all three days, closing at 12Noon on Thursday. To be successful, you need to see where you're going and this program has been designed to help you mark your "map" and help you on the path!
